The Llŷn Peninsula

The Llŷn Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with beautiful, uncrowded beaches, and is a fabulous area for walking, exploring old pilgrimage routes, looking at birds, just being in a peaceful lovely place.

We are close to Abersoch (4 miles) so handy for sailing and other water-related sports.   The great castles of Caernarfon, Criccieth and Harlech are just down the coast.

From the age of steam rather than stone, the area offers two of the best steam narrow gauge railway lines – the Welsh Highland Railway which runs from Caernarfon,  and the Ffestiniog Railway, based in Porthmadog, both only a short journey away.

For the gardener, we are within striking distance of the wonderful gardens at Portmeirion and Plas Brondanw and the world-famous plant nursery Crûg Farm Plants; Bodnant is about an hour’s drive away.

Approximately an hours driving takes you to Snowdonia for climbing and walking - heaven on earth really!
